Two weeks ago I was in Utah and stopped in Helper to see the restored Conoco station. It is a very nice restoration. I understand from locals that this station was not originally a Conoco station, but an independent brand. I took photos of the pump plates, and I believe the fact that these Wayne 70's have a serial number suggests that they were actual gas pumps that were restored.

Down the street is a similarly historic Sinclair station...that was never actually a gas station...and the manufacturer plates on the Sinclair pumps have no serial number. The Sinclair, the Conoco and a smaller restored Texaco station were all restored by the same guy.

Whether authentic or not, this is very well done.

Andy
