I've inherited five round Ellisco 5-gallon gas cans embossed "Shell". One appears to be a different model from the others. They have varying amounts of the original blue-gray paint. I was surprised to see Shell cans not in one of Shell's colors. I guess that wasn't Shell's practice in the early days?

I also have 11 Davis Welding 5-gallon oval cans. They are yellow and came from a Shell facility but are not embossed with a company name. The can in the attached photo is typical of the amount of paint remaining.

I'd be interested to know the value of these cans. Thanks.

Fred, I would think the embossed "SHELL" 5-gallon cans could bring around $50-$75 each. John

$50-$100 based on condition (dents & rust) these seem to be your oldest & best finds so far! Keep digging, hopefully you will find some porcelain shell pump plates!!
