I purchased this 12 x 8 inch Diesel Chief a couple of years ago to match my 18 x 12 inch pump plate. The shelving is there and the other features seem right except for the spray. So...I was hoping to get some other opinions. Is it the real deal or...take a deep breath and swallow...is it a fake? I put my big boy pants on today and am ready to hear either the good news or bad news. Thanks in advance for any help.

picture of:

yours being a '62, circle R trademark is correct

mine is a earlier version 40's with Reg. T.M. also has split grommets

grommet holes off the diesel chief btm are in different locations on sign of subject

corners on sign of subject appear too be more rounded

compare sign of subject against example I posted & voice your 2¢ .. ... cool

Here is an example of mine to compare against the one you posted. In my opinion the spray pattern is different. On Randy’s and mine, Made in USA is in the bottom left hand corner and on yours it is in the bottom right hand corner. My corners are also rounded like yours. Hope this helps.

I don't like the fact that it appears to have rolled back grommets. Most if not all of my original Texaco pump plates had aluminum split back grommets. The parenthesis are a little different, but I would have to hold it in my hand to tell for sure. By the picture and for the previous mentioned, I would air on the side of "fake". Just my OPINION from the pictures?
