Hi
When taking pictures I noticed the face of the blank side of this globe is shaped differently from my other globes.
According to lastgas15.com website, this globe was used for/by Sinclair and Richfield.

The globe was boxed with an Imperial Refineries Lens on it. Had there been 2 lenses on the globe I would not have known/noticed.

So am I correct; the lens and the globe are mismatched? Does it matter?

Three other points/questions:
1. Would all 13½" Sinclair lenses fit and be appropriate for this globe?
2. Do we know when the globe was manufactured and whether or not it was for specific lenses?
3. The screws are not brass, should they be? Are they "after market screws"? I've not checked the hardware store; are the brass ones still available? Does it matter?

Thanks again for your expertise and for sharing your knowledge.👍

That body looks new (those are reproduced).

And talking for myself, I don't care what body a lens is displayed on.

I put all my lenses on glass bodies, no matter what they were supposed to come on.

I just don't like plastic bodies.

Later . . .

Thank you Jim.

I can say with certainty that the globe and lens have been in a box for 17-19 years and owned for between 20 and 25 years.

I am learning, I understand that doesn't mean it's not a reproduction, sigh.....I'm trying to be as accurate as possible but it's proving to be very difficult.

So how do I know, or do I?

IMHO, reproduction bodies don't reduce the value of a globe significantly.

The reproduction milk glass bodies are being reproduced using the original molds - so other than the new bodies being a tad more white than an original, nothing else is different.

And as far as I know, we are the only company faithfully reproducing the mounting screws/washers and thumb nuts to mount the lenses.
