This is coming up for auction and I am wondering what anyone thinks about it. The first image is of the pump for sale. The second image is of one that sold 2 years ago. To me, the decals look wrong and it is missing the front ring. I don’t think they used a racing fuel decal then either. The face is also more square. Also, both seem too similar for it not to be a scam. The only reason I believe it is legit is because it is from Barrett Jackson and I wouldn’t think they would be auctioning off a fake pump. The pump itself is probably original, but the restoration seems off.

If anyone happens to look at the other lots, do any of them seem like reproductions?

Brady, Those are real metal Tokheim 300 gas pumps from the 1950's. However they were restored (paint/decals/design, etc) to a fantasy scheme, that was not originally used back in the day. They just painted and designed it to look good for someone's garage. If you are thinking of paying $6300+ for a Tokheim 300 restoration please call me, I will restore one for you (I am finishing up a Texaco 300 right now).

….BTW: That last sentence is sort of a joke, because that Barrett price is wayyyyy too much money for a restored Tokheim 300.
