I just picked up a Wayne 70 and it has origanal ad glasses in it . All they say is Southern, in red letters. I am trying to research this, is this the same as Dixie gas? Does anyone have any photos of a Southern gas pump?

There was a Southern Oil Company, out of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, that was rebranded Hess in 1963. That could be the same company as your pump. Good luck with your research!

I’ve had many pumps over the years here in my area with Southern Ad Glass. I’ve been told by multiple collectors and the old farmers that this is Southern Pump and Tank Company (SPATCO) in Charlotte. They are on Graham St. and still in business.

Those Ad glasses are very common in pumps in this area. Hope that helps.
