Well, this sure became an interesting place to end up while surfing a few months back. While I don't actively collect Petroliana, I do enjoy its appeal. Since I already have a substantial collection of cars, and the mountains of associated junk that comes with them, I suppose that is why I don't collect the supporting display items such as pumps and signs etc. But vintage cars seem to merge well with this interest, so here I am. I'll simply live vicariously through you guys adventures while I'm rebuilding carburetors or replacing transmissions or whatever mindless mechanical activity has demanded my attention for the day. Besides...aren't these forums how we conveniently procrastinate when we can't figure out where we left our coffee cup or when it's still too damn cold to go down to the shop and putter?
Anyhow, I'm sure I will have some questions or comments in the future. I do have some old gas pumps that could use some attention, so if I ever get around to those maybe you guys can aim me as to where I find small parts etc.

Regards, Jim
I collect gas pump salt and pepper shakers and the plastic coin banks made by AVSCO.

Welcome to Oldgas. Was just in Phoenix and southern Az for the last two weeks going to BJ and visiting friends. Could’ve looked you up and paid you a visit. Always love to see car collections and I could’ve piqued your interest in this petro stuff!

Greetings from Nebraska. I suspect there are a lot of car enthusiasts here, including me!

Thanks! Nice to be along for the ride. Those car auctions are certainly a big draw this time of year. Unfortunately, in my opinion, they have kind of ruined the hobby for the average little guy tho. But at least the stuff is preserved, even if mostly kept behind locked gates.
I did recently stumble upon a bit of "petroliana"...which was probably not one of my better ideas, but what the hell... won't be the first, nor the last of my lifetime learning curve. I have acquired a prefab "Icebox style" (I think they are called?) Union Oil gas-station. So someone might point me where to find that stuff on your fine website. I have already reached out to Ben at Enarco and he has been offering some guidance.
