My Rush built/assembled Fry pump has a tag that is beyond repair. So I made a new one.
Does anybody know if the Rush tags made for Sinclair originally had a black painted background or were installed with no paint?
I made the new tag but am not sure if I should paint the background black, patina and polish the top surfaces, or just use it as is.
Thanks.

Larry

How did you match the 1920s font type?

A vectorizing service was used. They hand trace the graphic so you can print it out in vinyl or do whatever you want really on the computer.

As Paul said, he sent it to an online vectorizing service for me. He instructed them to trace it rather than use a standard font. Otherwise nothing would match the original font. After that a mask was made and applied to the brass. The brass was etched in acid. Then cleaned up.
I think the black we see on the original tag is just years of oxidation. I'm going to leave it as is for now.
