...or - this is just a thought - you sell it to Doc for his bid of $180.

Looking for better Gulf items: signs, globes, cans and paper - especially porcelain Gulf flanges, and Gulf A-38 & A-62 ad glass...

sounds like a last minute attempt to raise the bidding, What do they call that on ebay? I think $180. was a fair price for that banner

So you run this auction and the last bid posted should win right?
Aren't you going to follow through with it?

I totally understand moparman the wife says sell it
for x-$, or burn it, it did'nt bring x-$,
so it's got to be burnt. Simple as that!

I guess I am missing something or not reading between the lines?????

What B/S are you talking about? Your first post said "holding a four day auction here on oldgas", I assumed that what is was. If you wanted a certain amount for it, just ask that for it. Your the one who posted it this way. The one post about the 250 offer looks by the wording "i have a friend" that this is coming from you. I realize it's not but can see how people may be confused. You were just posting the contents of the email. Maybe that should have been explained before the post, or if you told them to post a bid and they didn't then just leave it at that and ignore them and not post the email. You had a couple legit people interested and maybe some more.

I was just a watcher on this one, but was thrown off by a couple of these posts.

Sorry to see it go this way. B/S is only what someone makes of a situation if they see it that way.

Sorry to ramble. Good luck with it.

I read your reply after I sent in the last post. I understand what you mean about the b/s email sent to you, then they don't follow up with a bid...just like ebay when you receive questions about the item from "tire kickers". I think you should have considered it a "no-bid" until they confirmed it with a post. It's quite possible Doc and a few other members might have run their bid a bit higher if you would have posted that the $250.00 wasn't legit until they posted it as a bid... Just a thought, I don't want to have a disagreement over opinions.

Kurt
