These two Silent Chief brands are entirely different companies. Sorry for the confusion Wes, this particular brand is not a Canadian-based company.

Nice globe, Chad!
I can say with certainty, the "Silent Chief" branded products using the "Indian Head" have nothing to do with the Miller Oil Company of Canada or the Sun Oil Company of Canada. Oregon is a loooong way from Simcoe, Ontario...
And yes, Wes, I saw that original Silent Chief globe at the Stackhouse auction. I think it looks better in the picture you posted than it did in person! I know the history of that globe, Tom had it for years.

When I look at the US version of Silent Chief and the Canadian version, I'm wondering what does a Viking have to do with Silent Chief other than Viking and Silent Chief are together,, The Indian head looks very nice,,, it reminds me of our ( Canadian) Red Indian,,, a nice globe as well,, [This message has been edited by Wes Hague (edited 02-29-2008).]

I received my Starlite Gasoline lenses from Jim today, and the colours are an exact match to the original. I did a side-by-side comparison with both globes lit with a 7 watt compact flourescent. T-Way did a fantastic job re-creating this great old globe. I hope everyone who decides to get one will be as pleased with it as I am.
