STARTING THIS THREAD SLIGHTLY EARLY SINCE MY SISTER'S MAC ACTS LIKE IT'S GONNA BLOW UP ANY SECOND! LOL!!

IT'S "BUYS OF THE WEEK" TIME. LET'S SEE WHAT YOU'VE HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO BUY IN THE PAST 7 DAYS AND SHARE IT, THEM WITH THE REST OF US!

I'LL START. ALL YARDSALE BUYS FOR ME. THE SPOUT IS ON A ATLAS MASON JAR WHICH WAS LOADED WITH BUGS AND OIL. THE LITTLE GLASS BOTTLE ON THE RIGHT IS ACTUALLY A PINT CREAMER FROM "QUEENS DAIRY." NOT PETRO BUT STILL WORTH COLLECTING SINCE IT'S LOCAL. HAVE A LOOK....

THANKS!

YOUR BOTW HOST!

HER AND OLD GAS PUMP TELEPHONE THAT WAS GIVEN TO ME. PLUGGED IT IN AND IT ACTUALLY WORKS. DIALER IS ON BOTTOM OF PHONE AND WHEN YOU SET IT DOWN IT HANGS UP. THE MAN WHO GAVE IT TO ME HAS OWNED IT FOR OVER 30 YEARS.http://img354.imageshack.us/img354/3733/pic000347yj.jpg

I've been in the doldrums lately with my petro collecting...."pump slump" so to speak...but a hundred bucks at a yard sale last Thursday, and I'm BACK!!

Think I'll start collecting big cans again...

Anybody heard of The Merit Oil Equip Co? Neat air stand.
And the big finish---Wayne and Erie stationlighter attachments.
Yard sales RULE!

MERIT was a re-seller of equipment. They would buy other company items then put their name on it [ie: BOWSER 310 = MERIT 900, ERIE 175 = MERIT 175. Pg. 204 in Jack's book]. Your AIR stand is originaly an ERIE 175 OIL PUMP.

MY NIECE AND HER NEW HUBBIE BROUGHT THESE SMALL MAGAZINE ADS BACK FROM THEIR I-TALIAN HONEYMOON 5 WEEKS AGO. I WOULD GUESS THEM TO BE FROM THE 1930'S:

My gas geek brother Brian asked me to post his recent B.O.T.W. pic for him.

He also wanted to apologize for the poor photo quality. I think that he did such a good job on finding that S-2 clockface pump, that no apologies are needed....

Great find Brian.

This Pennsylvania S-2 was in an issue of Check the Oil a few years back, I got it out of ILL.I like the pump, but would like to know more about it. It is not in Jack Sims book. Any info would help.
It has the original pump tag.
I will take some better pictures tonight.
Thanks Thunder for posting for me.

Brian
