I got bitten by the gas pump bug while living with a friend earlier this year when moving to Socal. I had to have one so I bought a M&S 80 that was already restored. Then I stumbled onto a Bennett 541 that was painted but not completed. I just finished it and much to my wife's dismay, I now have 2 gas pumps in our living room. I also purchased 2 Wayne 60's, one of which is a clockface. I need to restore those and will post pics later as I want all of your opinions on the faded decal on one. What do you think of my first pump? The Slama Globe really tops it off well I think. And as my son tells my wife, "Mom its like art and history" By thelindquists , shot with DSC-H5 at 2008-10-07 By thelindquists , shot with DSC-H5 at 2008-10-07 By thelindquists , shot with DSC-H5 at 2008-10-07

Welcome to the site. How come you can't get your buddy Chris Farmer to post? I heard he had a new GM guy staying with him that got hooked on pumps. I'm the one Chris called about the M&S 80 in your pic. Happy pump finding. Ted ------------------ Ted Pam & Ethyl Roach Lodi CA. Looking for Signal, Hancock, Mohawk, Douglas, Gilmore and Richfield

That Gilmore station almost looks too good to be outside in the weather. It looks like a museum piece. Sweet!

Oldnfuelish. you just have to do a little kissing up. I had to do that, keep the colors toned down, try to make it blend. and when there not looking, sneak it in and add some neon [This message has been edited by mobil100 (edited 10-12-2008).]

DP & loftbed- that replica Gilmore station is pretty much a museum piece. It is located in the Farmers Market/Grove shopping complex in Los Angeles. Which is still owned by the AF Gilmore company. Here is an old oldgas thread where a member took some photos, not to long after it was released I believe... http://www.oldgas.com/shoptalk/ubb/Forum4/HTML/000481.html Farmers Market/Gilmore Island history... http://www.farmersmarketla.com/history/index.html Check out the slide show on the left.

That Gilmore story is classic American. I was just thinking how many government regulations would have to be overcome today to do something similar. The station is really nice. I hope to be building a new home complete with a 4 car garage, and my own gas pumps from the time I remember.
Antique? It's new to me.

I thought it might be restored original building and equipment. That shows how little I know. It still looks great, though.
