I finally found one of these! Not the easiest sign to come across when you are looking for one. It came from Medford,WI. I would be very interested in a matching gas globe if anyone should have or know of one for sale. Got this neat old sign on ebay a while back, it supposedly came from a Wadhams station in the Milwaukee WI area. It would be pretty cool if someone had a photo of a station showing this sign, that they could post.
Still looking for that Union 76 ball And I collect big old porcelain neon signs

Here are my buys of the past week or so. The 2 Mobilubes, the "newer" 5 qt., and the "No Smoking" sign are from Veedol Al. (THANK YOU ALAN!) The others are all Ebay buys. Darin

This is a neat poster I found on Ebay as well. It's a little large and I'll have to have a frame made for it, but I thought the subject matter on this 1930's Argentinan Mobiloil poster really made it stand out. Definately from a "by gone" era! I just thought I'd post it since I doubt everyone looks at EVERY Mobil item like I do! Darin

The one on the left is new........I've pictured it with one of the familiar hand mirrors to show the small size. It's SST and the light color is silver, which is difficult to photograph. It has the familiar "circle & shield" SOCONY logo, but if you look closely you'll notice it says "SOSA" rather than "SONY" inside the circle ......and has "Standard Oil Co, (SA) Ltd" at the bottom of the shield.......SA meaning "South America". The sign came from a west coast refinery and I think it was used when product was shipped to customers in South America. I don't recall ever seeing this logo before on a sign or can. Picked up this Reagent single sided porcelain sign today at an antique mall. Not sure if it is petro or not but it looks like it may have been a pump plate? Anybody know for sure? Thanks

My guess re. the reagent sign is that it came from a lab. For example, for ethanol, I would see drums in central supply rooms marked "Denatured" (sometimes with the # for the formula), "Technical" and "Reagent grade." Normally you couldn't use one for the other. And the reagent was guarded like Fort Knox!
