Hey Doc! North Dakota has snow in the northern areas this morning and its about 10 degrees. I'm not so sure that your rain is a bad thing, we're bracing for the big winter storm thats gonna hit saturday night! Supposed to be several inches of snow along with 40 MPH winds. That makes for one heck of a blizzard my friend! It will totally shut down all activity for the duration, if it happens. Then comes the digging out process! Costs a lot and takes a long time!
Theres a lot of benefit to living here but I've begun to wonder as I get older! Maybe a winter vacation to the south would help--like a 3 month vacation!

Good morning everyone,
My Mother-In-Law used to get migraines until her children left home. Did not sound like any fun at all.
Eye exam today. Getting harder to see up close. Hope to get some shop work done today. Good day,
Mike

Good morning, gang. I've got lunch with a friend at noon and after that I need to go to the local community college to renew my CPR certification. Since I'm a healthcare provider, I need to keep my certification current and it expires on Monday! Good luck with that migrane, Brad. Hope everyone has a good day!

The winter storm as promised is just starting to come up the Columbia. Rain, cold and the wind is kicking up some. (My neighbors 7' fan palm was just leaning over on the ground from a wind gust) If it keeps up it will be real nasty in the mountains, weatherman said 1-3 feet of snow today for Mt. Hood. Can't imagine whats it going to be like once it hits the down slope of the Cascades and moves towards Richard in Walla Walla.

Thats the same #<*?>%* storm thats supposed to hit the midwest on sat nite or sunday! Theres blizzard warnings and a big statewide winter storm watch issued for the weekend!
Isn't there something you can do to stop it? How about putting up several big tarps to break the direction or maybe some big fans to blow it back where it came from??
Not looking foreward to having it show up here. There is a chance that a low pressure area south of us could slide furthur south and then the main track would be thru SOUTH Dakota but they probably don't want it either.
If only we could somehow make friends with mother nature!!

Taking a lunch break, then back out to the shop for wrenching on the side to make some extra $$
Just lost out on a nice Marathon sign on ebay, I bid it up pretty high right at the last second and someone went even higher.
Looks like not everybody is broke in America.

Sorry, but the faster it moves through the area the better. If we could make the Cascades shorter for the next 3 days we would. Here on the western side of the Cascades we're used to mid 30 degree weather during winter. For a couple of days it might get down to low to mid 20s but we have a real hard time with anything colder. Hard to have roses blooming with real cold weather. That's why we tell everyone it rains so much here, so no one will come and check us out. Just between you and me, now don't tell anyone else, it doesn't rain here as much as on the east coast.... shhhhhs, mums the word. Usually the highs in summer are mid 80s with a few days in the 90s and above. And when it does get that hot, the ocean with those nice breezes is only an hour away or the Columbia is a 10 minute drive. Again, don't tell anyone.... So please enjoy the little present we are sending to the mid-west and east coast. Here they say temps in the mid teens (and thats the coldest temps in a decade), so even with the storm we don't reach your average winter temps. So again once the snows start to blow across the plains, we will be thinking of you.... and saying "man I'm glad I live on the west coast".

Bob's Wescoast storm going east is going to collide with the Arctic air moving south. they are saying 5 inches of snow and then it will plunge to minus 26 on Monday and Tuesday. That will freeze the balls off the brass monkey.
