Just heard that beginning April 1 the gas stations in California have to upgrade their nozzles to meet the environmental standards and it costs the gas stations $11000 per nozzle. Lot of gas stations said they will leave state and more lost jobs, just what economy needs now. Heard the governator is trying to get a one year hold on this

Not to mention what the new Pay @ the Pump CC reader will cost.
I'd bet a lot will not have them installed on the pump.

I don't know how many of you are aware of this.
The new Wayne MPD's have a METER than can be calibrated electronicl by pushing a button, and the COMPUTER can have the price changed by satellite.
Apparently they are adding a vapor recovery system and the entire cost is PER nozzle, not FOR A NOZZLE?

You folks just keep in mind that DB and I will be breathing cleaner air as they clean out our pocketbooks. LOL If you you would like your state to participate, just let us know, we can hook you up with the wonderful California Air Resources Board. Also remember, these are the people who want to do away with black cars. Seems they get hotter inside and take more fuel to keep them cool inside, hence more air polution.

Calif pays the price for all the air that comes in off the Pacific & blows East. We don't get a break for the stuff that blows in from the Great Basin, Santa Ana winds. !

You know thats just another reason I left Los Angles in the fall of 1974 never to return. I was given a letter by the California Air resorses Board that stated that I had to "RETRO-FIT" my 1939 Chevrolet pick -up to meet 1974 California Smog contols for that state and folks , it aint no lie either ! I wound up eventualy living in Texas, A REAL STATE! Ed Shaver

see ya on the road folks !

According to the Sacto.Bee it is $11000.00 per pump.I have seen several stations in this area closed and some being upgraded.

The politicians of this country are going to do everything they can to make using fossil fuels very costly. That way they can more easily push their 'green' agenda. Wait till you see the tax hikes they're going to put on gasoline.
