I had a good weekend. I managed to pick up these items from a local dealer. 1- NOS Kendall oil sign Also picked up a beautiful NOS Supertest Muscle oil sign Lastly a very rare Supertest Service board. It has some rust issues but alot of it is surface rust and oil, hoping it cleans up nicely, I couldn't resist this one as it is the only one I have ever seen.

I got a instant Sinclair can collection the other day. I try to concentrate on only signs but the other stuff has a way of finding it's way into the collection. It was a good deal and I hated to see the display broken up, so I bought them. Even bought the display case they were in. Most are from the 1960's. Also got a single sided tin sign the other week, I would guess it dates from the 1920-30's.

Thanks to 5 Quart Don and the guys who pitched in on these oil cans for my Zephyr collection. I really appreciate it!
I had never seen a gold Zephyr can with the "Super" lettering in white and speed lines on Zephyr. I've never before added 4 Zephyr cans to my collection at one time. Very cool.

Hey, Bob, I have collected a few oil bottles and gotten burned on a couple where people have put new lables on old bottles. That Archer looks pretty suspicious as the label does not seem to fit the contour of the bottle like it does on the other two that you show. JMO, what does anyone else think?
Still looking for that Union 76 ball And I collect big old porcelain neon signs

Less than $10 is what I paid for it. I would be disappointed if it were a fake. I had passed up others because of the labels. The label is brittle, so it seems old.

I see your point, it does seem a rather poor fit. However, after looking at a pic in the 1st oiler book, there is an Archer household oil bottle of a little different shape but does have the same rectangular label. What I noticed was the angular placement of the label on the bottle giving me the impression that it was fairly common for, at least Archer, to have labels that were poorly applied. I realize this isn't conclusive evidence, but looking at the wear on the label as well, I'm "inclined" to "believe" this is legit. I am however using my best judgement and a little homework.

I can assure you that your Archer label is legit. I live in the middle of Archer country and have seen dozens of these.

Thanks for everyone's imput. These are my first bottles and I have read here and heard that there are fakes, glad I was "good to go" with my first purchases. Thanks porcelain-neon(sorry I don't know your name) for asking about the Archer, it will help remind me and hopefully others that there are fakes out there.
