I am bringing three albums of old service station maps to the Antiques Roadshow this Saturday in San Jose CA. August 15, 2009. I have know idea if my collection will rate a broadcast on there TV show but maybe it will. Maybe it will be a first because I have never seen old 1920's to 1960's give away service station maps on there TV show. I have other service station collectibles besides the maps but to me the maps are works of art that depict the history of the automobile and the service stations that sold gasoline and motor oil during the golden age. If Marsha Bemko (sp?) talks to you you have a good chance of being on, for 2 days at Hershey I was joking around with the camera crews and one of the hosts. They were in golf carts and we were walking pulling "the hershey wagon". we never made the show. We (my boy) did make the Hershey paper back in 94. Good luck! tt

Hi Rich--
Several years ago, in Las Vegas, the collection of one of the gurus of road map collecting, Peter Sidlow, was featured on Roadshow. I sure hope to see your maps on the air!

October 23-24 are the dates for the RMCA Expo this year. We had hoped to work it out around the Peotone show, but their dates were changed.

Good luck!

Have they changed the rules? The rules use to state, "only two items per person". The best part of the roadshow is standing in line and seeing everyone else's stuff.

I went to it when it came to Louisville about 10 years ago. I did make the show but I was in the background when they were talking to someone else.

I went to the Road Show and spent a couple hours in line for a two minute appraisal. The appraiser looked at my older maps and said they were worth about $2500. I have 88 older maps in the album. Not bad since I have about $1500 in them.

Most of the people in line had there stuff covered up. I will just have to watch the show next year to see what others brought.
