I GOT AN EMAIL FROM A FELLOW WHO WANTS TO KNOW MORE ABOUT THIS POSSIBLE GLOBE PURCHASE...

"I got your email off a site with many kendall items. I know of a glass globe with the plane that is going to be for sale and I wondered if you could tell me anything about it?"

OBVIOUSLY, TOM IS LOOKING FOR AN APPROX DATE AND A FAIR VALUE ON THIS KENDALL GLOBE AS SHOWN ABOVE.

THANKS FOR THE COMMENTS AND HELP GUYS!

Kendall Gasoline with Airplane 1926-1935 on 15 inch medal frame in good condition the book says it is worth $4500-$6000. This globe pictured I would say $3500-$4000 in the condition it is in. The plane pictured is the same style as the Sprit Of St Louis.

I would be willing to bet that came from the Gary Hillman collection that was sold in NY a few years ago.

It is rare but the looking at the pic's from the auction site it may have more damage than one first see's. There is also a good auction coming up if your into oil co. posters like Amoco, Gulf, etc.

Just got off the phone with the auction company was "Planning on doing some live phone bidding" but just ended up being a spectator on the phone haha....I like to let the floor open it up and go from there and the auctioneer opened it up at 4,500.00 and it was a rocket ship from there. It didn't stall out until about 7,500.00 for a minute or so then picked up again. I was blown away at what it was bringing. Needless to say I never even opened my mouth I just listened lol.

That's really surprising, considering the very poor condition. Any idea who got it?

I'm not 100% positive but the last stall out price I heard through the phone was 12,000.00 I could be wrong it was noisy but I did here the auctioneer say 12,000.00. So 12,000 + 10% BP = 13,200. I have no idea who got it I was 1 of 2 phone bidders. I'm still in shock.
