I need some of your expertise on clockface pumps in general. Were the clock mechs made by a few ? manufacturers for all brand pumps like veedor root for computer pumps ? I am trying to build a matching pair of clockface pumps and need a mechanism to convert the one to clockface (all the faces, knobs, etc. are available. Anyone have a clock mechanism for sale ? or does it have to be pump specific ?
thanks

Larry what kind of pump are you doing . I am working on a aqua-455 right now the clock face mechanism on that pump is made by neptune meters. I am pretty sure the wayne clock-face is pretty diffrent.

Without doing much research here is a list of the companies that made meters:
Smith Meter Co., Los Angles, CA
Neptune "Red Seal" New York, NY
Buffalo Meter Co., Buffalo, NY
Pittsburgh Meters, Pittsburgh, PA
Pittsburgh Equitable Meter Co., Pittsburgh, PA
Bowser Pump Co., Ft. Wayne, IN
Worthington Pump & Machinery, Harrison, NJ, they made the first meter
Incidentally I have many parts/repair manuals and ads for the meters themselves. E-mail me if you want more information on them.

The pump is a national b-1. The faces say :
"Apex Metering Pump" if that means anything.
I can't see any identifiers on the mech itself. It is a simple rectangular box that hangs under the sight glass manifold and it has a small bracket that bolts to the center holes on the faces. Appreciate the help and info.

I believe Apex was only a name used by National to describe one of their meters as in "Apex, Duplex and Simplex." I believe they were made by someone else besides National.

I have a extremely rare clockface pump that was manufactured by Victor-Hayes Manufacturing Co. I think it could possibly be the only one known to exist. The clock mechanism was made by Trident Manufacturing, Pat date Feb 15, 1927. Any one ever hear of a pump like this?
