I've got a bennett 646 with the sinclair ethyl add glass ( red letters white background). What color should the pump be? Looks to be a 40's model year.

Dick is correct on both counts. If you dont want to do it in Sinclair, you dont have to. You can get different ad glass for it. John

The ad glass I have is in pretty good shape. That book isn't cheap!

That is the best money spent. This book gives you all the correct images and colors and right pump plates and globes and add-glass for restoring a pump to it's correct presentation. Or like DB sez do what you like.

But it's full of information for a lot of oil companies on their paint schemes on different pumps. Book is cheaper than a couple hours in a bar & won't be just a memory in the morning!

It's done, found a place to order. also ordered illustrated guide to gas pumps. It's nice to leave the bar before there is no memory, well sometimes! Thanks

Most of the early Sinclair ethyl pumps were in solid gray which is pretty dull looking to me. They later changed to red with with doors with sinclair ethyl decal.
