Thunder...I'm pretty experienced with most technological items. I still to this day prefer a real book in my hands.

But if you need any help, feel free to contact me.

Thanks for the help guys. Its just that things like this, and the associated websites, are made by & for techies. If your not a techie, you just cant figure it out.

The answer, "I dont know" by the Customer service rep, just proved to me that this product REALLY fails.

I've actually bought a copy of the book, from Barnes & Noble. And I stated such, in my letter to Amazon.

I have ABSOLUTELY NOTHING good to say about Amazon, because of all of this. Other than, I will use this entire experiance, as what NOT to do, to my customers!

IF you want something easy, straightforward to use, and ridiculously reliable...an iPad is the way to go.

You can also go for an iPad mini, which is much cheaper, and similar in size to the Kindles and Nooks.

It is slightly more expensive, but Apple's customer service is unparalleled and their devices are (in my opinion) the pinnacle of technology performance and accesibility.

*** Kindle Update ***

It actually required a complaint to the BBB, to resolve my issues with Amazon. It seems that they really don't believe in their own mission statement...

"Mission
Our vision is to be Earth's most customer centric company; to build a place where people can come to find and discover anything they might want to buy online."

Sad! VERY sad!!!

Thank you Amazon. I'll be dealing with Barnes & Noble from now on...

I feel your pain Thunder. Took my kindle and gave it to my grandaughter. She is now the big shoot in preschool. I did get an Ipad. Love It. Its true with any device, Their is a learning curve and sometimes we all need a little help . Sounds like my grandaughter could of helped more than they did.

Actually Gene, there was a multitude of problems with the product, the associated websites, and the Customer Service Reps. The issue that sealed the fate was when I asked how to download a book, the CSR said "I don't know".

Its really become an issue for another place & time. Its just incredible how poorly amazon has handled all of this.
