I've got a question about something that's been bothering me for quite a while. Station logo porcelain doorknobs. I've seen them for sale, such as at Indiana gas, and on eBay. Brands such as Texaco (round and hex logos) and Sinclair (pentagonal logo). Are these real, or fantasy pieces, or a mix? Did the old stations actually have the logo-adorned knobs?

Thanks,
Wes

I know the ones you’re describing and they are fantasy. I have seen brass Standard doorknobs with stamped letters, supposedly from a Standard Oil office building and there was no mistaking those as original.
