I have a Bowser 585 old style gas pump that I am going to start work on this summer. My question is about the nozzel reciver..I have looked a several of these style pumps and they all have a round part on top of the nozzel reciever that is threaded. What was this for? Looking forward to the answer or a picture would be even better. Thanks

perhaps a price holder was screwed on there. just a guess. I've seen photos of 1950;s pumps with external price holders
