I had a May West stollen from in front of my buddys performance shop in Pueblo Co. It was yellow and red, cracked cylinder. It was bolted down with ancors into the concrete, and nuts welded. I think they took it for scrap they had to trash it to get it off. They broke some of the studs and there is one still with the nut on it. It was a pretty rough pump. It had a flame casting where the globe holder would be weird piece someone added. The pump handle had a 2" trailer ball for the handle. I doubt annyone will see it but you never know, so just a heads up. I know 2 of the three scrap yard owners here in town so there watching for it. I may have screwed up in calling the police because it made the paper the next day so it may not show for a while. Thanks Brandon

Hopefully when they break the cylinder out, someone has to be stitched up to look like Frankenstein!

MAN, that really stinks. In my opinion, the real sad part of this story is that these folks seemed to be so desperate that they felt they had no other options but to steal this pump. Maybe post a photo of it if you have one.

Theft is a HUGE issue. As a recycler, we get a phone call about once a month from a local Police Department, looking for something. Here in Colorado we must show an ID when we scale out. Our loads are video'd as we pull in, this is later matched with our load, which is "disected" before we even get back to the scale house. So the laws are in affect to attempt to lessem the likelyhood of theft. With that said, if that pump has been cut up, and it probably has been by now, it would be nearly impossible to identify it now.
Its a sad reality now, that the economy has come to this. I can only offer some advice right now. HIDE anything that can walk away! If you have piles of nice, rusty metal, its a target. Just like we go out looking for gas pumps in the wild, these theives, look for metal. New contruction suffers due to plumbing & electrical being stolen. Cemetaries are having their Bronze memorials stolen. Piles of car parts are being stolen all over the country. People have even removed light poles from accident scenes, just to take them to the scrap yard.
Hide it, put it under lock & key. And be sure to check on it every now & then. There have been people who have locked their stuff up in a shed, only to find out after the winter, that somebody broke in and took it.
Anything Chevron I'd rather be flying.....

Four years ago my neighbor was selling an older work truck, and had it in front of his house on a major road, and when someone wanted to test drive it, part of the muffler had been cut off (I'm guessing catalytic converter??????). He actually took the trunk in at night, so someone did it in broad daylight with traffic going by.
I'm sure we are going to have an increase in gasoline syphoning from vehicals as well...
I know the economy sucks, but there are and have been people who don't give a darn about making a quick buck, no matter what the cost to the rest of us.
