Its a standard safety type gas can that was used throughout the US. Complied with govt. safety regulations for the storage of small amounts of gasoline. Not affiliated with any major oil companies. Just an older gasoline storage can. Modern ones are plastic!

I'll second that, late 60's more like early 70's. still use these in factories through out US. Where static electricity is issue , as plastic made this danger worse. We use to simply ground can with wire to frame work of something. Your ok at 1.63 US money but don't expect to get rich.

My father had this exact same (style) can for the lawnmower gas. Used it many times: it wasn't the best for pouring, however.

Common U. L. , ( Underwriters Labratories ) "Saftey Can . I had them in use in my van accessory shop as I stored Acetone , Methyl Ethyl and sometimes , Mineral sprits in them . New, I guess they ran about 35.00 apiece for the one gallon , 50.00 for five gallon . They should have a spark aresstor in the pour throat too. Ed Shaver

The fire department required the body shop I worked at in the 1960s to use cans like that for lacquer thinner after it was drawn out of bulk barrels.
