I am doing a Phillips 66 pump (orange)and I took the Sherwin Williams paint number to the Napa Store to have it mixed. The cost for a quart was $78 plus reducer and plus hardner.
Are there any other options for Phillips 66 orange?????? Or am out of date on paint costs??????
I have not been able to match the pump plate color to any off the shelf colors.
Help!!!!

Just be glad you didn't need red.
There is a company in Cincinnati that sells paint that is very reasonable compared to the leaders. I will try and find their name in my file.

I figure $150-200 in paint for a pump using PPG DCC. Richard

You get what you pay for with paint. Cheaper paints are not going to cover good and will need multiple coats to cover. Also cheaper paints will probably not hold up very good the UV rays.
FREEDOM oil items wanted.

I restored a Wayne 515 last year. I had the base, the base covers, center cast section, all 9 rods, the top cylinder cast piece and the top dish and the hook for the nozzle sand blasted and powder coated red for $150. It really turned out slick. That also included sand blasting the skins. I haven't done it yet, but I'm going too soon, the powder coater said he has had good results powder coating over a thin layer of body filler. I think it is called Metalcoat. It's a two part plastic body filler that the local auto paint store carries. Another option I tried was Rustoleum red and I added some stuff that is a hardener and gloss adder. The local farm supply store had the adder. I painted a Fry 177 this last winter with it in my attached garage with a brush. After brushing it on I turned on my salamander heater and blasted the temperature up to 90 degrees and it turned out really slick, glossy and very hard. It's been outside since and hasn't weathered at all. I've been very happy with it so far. Rural King sells a tractor paint that is soy based and that stuff chalks over almost immediately. That stuff is junk. The same manufacturer of the paint also makes the hardener/gloss adder and that stuff is really good stuff. It can be added to any enamel paint. It may not give a museum quality finish, but for an outdoor pump you want to look nice you can't beat it at less that $40. I've done three expensive base coat/clearcoat for indoor pumps and was looking for some less expensive options for outdoor pumps and both powder coating and Rustoleum with the gloss/hardener have been good options. I'll have to see how they weather over several years of exposure.
