Just picked this up... works great. No cracks, mint. What do you think?

Don't think it's Conoco. Conoco signs had the tip at the bottom. Maybe it has been rotated but not so if clock numbers are also on the part with the triangle logo.

I bought because I was told it was Conoco. Didn't give any thought to the direction of the triangle. Time to do some research... thanks for pointing that out.

As Bill said, Conoco triangle and before that the Marland triangle face down and have their names across the triangles. A history on the Marland Oil Company, who started with the triangle...

I have never seen an original Conoco clock? Not sure they were ever produced back then. Have seen many repops.I have been looking for 12 years.. I am sure this one is not Conoco.

I'm with Ric. I have never seen a Conoco neon clock. I do have a Cities Service neon clock that is similar to the one pictured.

Collect small Oklahoma Oil Co.'s 1920's-1940's. Barnsdall, Cushing, Eason, Marland, etc.

Hmm. Gee, I can't believe anyone on Oldgas would list this clock on eBay as "Conoco" in the auction subheading after having been informed on here that it isn't....can you? I'm sure the answer must be that there are two of these clocks owned by Illinois folks, and that they have "nearly" identical blems on the face. That makes perfect sense, doesn't it??!! John

For the first time a thread has been quiet since being "outed".

The seller no doubt read all about this clock on here and knows it is suspect but yet still advertises it as an original hoping to snag that "uninformed Buyer". That is just WRONG and against what we are trying to prevent. I guess the knowledge from experienced collectors is not good enough for a "Newbie"

in answer to my question to seller"is it a genuine conoco clock?" seller responded "This clock is old and original. It was made by Neon Products in Lima, OH who made a lot of the old neon adverting clocks. It doen't say "conoco" on it but the auction house I purchased it from assured me it was. Thanks." i dont doubt that clock is old and original, just that its conoco. guess the auction house knows more than we do?

What a shady description. This clock has as much to do with Conoco as it does the YMCA, Triangle Man, and a Dorito.
