we dont have pontiac in Malaysia. so strange how this sign ended up here and the words is not local.
i have seen fake coke and local soda signs but not petrol stuffs. Most of the petrol fake stuffs comes from Thailand which i have seen a lot of them in bangkok.

I thought it sounded Dutch, and when I google it many replies come from the Netherlands. First two replies talk of a Vereen Bliekfabrik in Amsterdam. I would assume that Vereen is a name, no idea of bliek, but fabrik is factory... Any Dutch connections in your part of the world, maybe since the colonial times? //Claes

just a thougt, does the indian resemle the indian head of Pontiac? At a glance it looks like the symbol of Chicago Black Hawks (NHL) ??

I HAVE FRIENDS IN THE NETHERLANDS. THEIR LANGUAGE DEF HAS ALOT OF DOUBLE VOWELS LIKE THE "EE" YOU HAVE WRITTEN OUT. I'D BE LEANING TOWARDS IT BEING FROM THERE AS WELL.

Regardless of where the sign is from, I dont believe it has any thing to do with PONTIAC the automobile...

Hi would say Pontiac fridge , was fairly common in France , so I assume it could have been the same in Belgium and Netherlands. Try to Google: frigo Pontiac
