But I really like these two signs I saw in an antique mall along the interstate this weekend. And get this. It was my 11 year old son who made me pull over and stop(He wanted a new old stock penny for his collection...LOL). Anyway they are embossed tin with the date 11-46 on both and are framed. What would you guys and gals pay for one of these? Thanks, Mike Uploaded with ImageShack.us

...it looks as though someone made wood frames for them...kinda hard to see in the photo...probably from the large find a year or so ago...they had the 'self-framed' portion flattened out and were nailed face down (as siding?) when discovered...
Looking for better Gulf items: signs, globes, cans and paper - especially porcelain Gulf flanges, and Gulf A-38 & A-62 ad glass...

Hi-Octane - They were asking $475.00 each, which seemed high to me. I thought maybe around $350 but I'm not very up on signs so I thought I'd see what you all thought. Here's another one that I got a little sticker shocked on. They wanted $475 for this also. It's painted steel, not porcelain and you find these signs everywhere. But I've never seen one in this good of shape. I'd say both side were a 9.5 and I've never see a flange type frame/mount for this type of sign. I couldn't find the date on it but it looks like a 70's version. I am pretty new to this still. Seemed way high to me, yet... Am I wrong? Uploaded with ImageShack.us

quaker state is way off, $100. is even a lot for that newer style. Those Gulfs are nice but like was said, several were found, 250-350 range is my estimate

Make dealer an offer on them, maybe they have had them long enough & need a return on what they paid out. IF you don't ask, you'll never know. 5-10yrs down the road you'll ask yourself WHY you didn't at least make an offer or buy one/both! Lots of signs/globes/cans I passed on yrs ago, I Can't afford NOW.
