If the purchase sends money as a gift, Paypal did not charge their 3% fee. However, I thought I heard recently, that they have closed this loophole in Paypal? There is some drawback to the purchase as they do not offer buyer protection for these transactions. Technically you were just getting $ not an item. So as the buyer, if it was not received you were hosed.

Someone send me some money and we can see if it is still free...LOL
