Curb sign holder and base. Any guesses on what sign goes in it? I am thinking Firestone or maybe Sohio. It will be in the for sale section later. Thanks Uploaded with ImageShack.us

I know a firestone sign would fit in the ring and it looks to be made for it..but was the use of tube bending avail in the 30's? I have seen these curb signs in a frame that fits closer to the sign and like the round style verions. Minuteman- does your's have a firestone base?

Look at matthews auction peotone 2008. I believe that curb sign has the correct frame and base. This one shown is the smaller version.

mine never came with a base but i have one for it now....there was a picture that was posted on oldgas quite awhile ago, i think it was from the HAMB site where oldgassers were counting globes on an old station by the road, something like 23 globes everywhere and there was also an original firestone sign with this hanger in the picture....mm

It's hard to see the detail on the one that sold at matthews from the small picture. My round curb sign has the flat iron look to it-but the sign sits inside a frame. Totally different version, but maybe these brackets were made both ways? Do you have the pic from the hamb?
