I can remember over 40 years ago working on that model. The "doghouse" cover on the engine is in between the front seats like freestanding box. I could sit or lay on the interior floor and work on the engine. I once installed a custom-made aftermarket A/C unit on one because aftermarket factory units weren't available. It had a standard Falcon compressor and generic underdash evaporator. My boss converted an old refrigerator box condenser and fan for me to install under the passenger side floor. It was a little crude, but it worked!
