Well I hope maybe someone can help me or point me in a direction.

I am in need of the gold zero that is on the trunk lid of a 1959 Ford Fairlane 500.

It has a stud that sticks into the trunk and is held on by a small spring. It swivels to reviel the lock mechanism. The spring on mine came off and the zero fell out the back, my luck!!

I am not worried about condition since it will be painted to match the rest.

Thank you.

Sorry...... I didn't think it would hurt to ask.

Sometimes people that collect petroliana have old cars.

Excuse me.

You might try someone like this guy or someone else on Ebay that has badges and parts and such for the vehicle...might get lucky. Hope you find it.

Hi 59Fairlane Welcome to old gas! If someone on here knows where to find what you are looking for I'm sure they will post an answer for you. Don't be offended by the grumpy guys on here as there is only a few of them. The rest of the members like tokheim are real nice, friendly and very helpful. You are not the first to ask about old car parts, There have been members looking for tri power manifolds, air cleaners, 1960s gm manifolds, carbs, where to get hail damage repaired etc who did not get an answer like this. And yes your right old gas stuff and old cars do go together even though most of this forum is old gas related. Good luck finding the part you are looking for.

Go to the library and pick up a copy of Hemmings Motor News. You can find sources for any Ford part in that book.

I dont have a problem with someone seeking help for other projects on here. They could pit it in non-petro which was created for those sorts of things.

It does show great initiative in trying to find the part. I get tired of hearing I looked everywhere, when in reality they hardly looked anywhere..

Good Luck..

Thanks for all the support.

I suscribe to Hemmings and am a frequent ebayer. The reason I asked the question is that what I am looking for is very hard to find and they do not "repop" them.

I do appreciate all your suggestions. I will post some pics of my collection, under the appropriate section, (don't want to make anybody mad ;-) soon.
