I've got my Wayne 615 back from the sand blaster today. Looking to the future I want to paint it in Sunray colors with a Sunray globe with orange body, I cannot find a 15" repop so I'll go with a 13" but I'm wondering anyway what is the proper size for the visables or does it matter?

I think a 13" is going to look a bit small on your visible, they tended to have 15" or 16.5" back in the day. I recommend seeing if one of the globe vendors here will agree to do a batch in 15", then see if a bunch of people on here will also buy a set to keep the price down.

Take a little globe and put it up there and then stand back and look. You'll have an easy time deciding on the bigger metal bodied globes for a visible! 16 1/2 if you can get one!

I put a Pure 16 1/2" on my visable looks great, it's a long ways up there.

Thank you! I was thinking a 13 would be too small, Now where would I find a 15 or 16.5 Sunray? anyone? Maybe have to rethink the company/paint scheme.
Thanks again!

Opinions above are Their personal Opinions! Some visibles were made into the late 40's, so any globe you choose could be correct. Look threw this thread; http://oldgas.com/forum/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=229104&page=1You'll see ALL types of globes on visible pumps [1pc, 16.5", 15", Glass, Plastic bodies]. The globe YOU choose might not have been used as a 15" or 16.5" A GOLD Crown looks Bitch-en on a WAYNE Roman, but the Gold Crown wasn't used till the early 50's [Premium] & the Roman was regulated to use on Farms pump by then.

On second thought, put a Capco on it, or maybe a 12" Gulf. Thanks for enlightening me Dick.

Well upon looking at the top dome there is a 7" ring adapter inside the 6" original globe base. Would that indicate that it had a 15" on it?

More than likely, someone used an adapter to put one of the standard oil crowns, or an older metal bodied globe with a 7 inch base. There weren't any 13.5 globe bodies with a 7 inch base, so it had to be a crown or a 15 inch or a 16.5!
