ok guys, i'm looking for a good lens or two. i will buy one if you have it. i ended up buying two milk glass globes at "It's a gas" and now need something to put on em. i have been looking for "imperial refinery's". or of course a "martin" now that i only need one, i'm hoping it will be cheaper...lol. i am also still trying to find that set of "D-X" lenses from columbia this past weekend. i cant afford all of em, but apparently i have some money that i would rather give to an old gasser rether than a bill collector. i have been told i should buy a fire extinguisher for my pocket, cause everytime i have some extra cash it burns a hole in it....lol. but any help would be good....i'm open to suggestions and not in any hurry. just thought i would see what is out there. before i run and buy some reproduction lenses. but i am already tired of looking at plain white globes..so i dont know how long that will be...LOL
take care guys,
mike

hey roger,
it is a 13 1/2, were you the one with the box of DINO's at columbia? i was looking at a few up there. i think right now i'm looking for "IMPERIAL" and i'm not even sure why. just stuck in my head. or "MARTIN" (my last name) of course, but those will be hard to get i think. or even a TEXACO or the "D-X" that were at columbia, that i walked away from!!! man am i stupid!! but i will keep ya in mind if i cant find one of the above. yours are in my price range.
thanks bud,
mike

I also was on the same lines as Mikey this weekend at Columbia. I picked up a nice milkglass globe and the lenses I have at home cant be used on this globe.
So I'm also lookng for some good lenses too.
I want to stay in the texaco related lines.
I have good sky cheif and good white t star so something else would be good. I know some Kanotex is real pricy but let me know other brands you may have for sale. 13.5 inch.

Also I saw a texaco star at the show but it had a C at the bottom in the black border.
What did that mean? I know just enough to get in trouble.

Thanks

John Hooss

Hi John H the C at the bottom means the lenses are for a Capco boby. Richard

Fight you for a lens! Heck no! Anyway your twice my size. The only advantage I would have would be to grab a piercing or two! Ouch!
Anyway I just met you and I need all the friends in the hobby I can get.
When I got home and found that the lenses I have won't mount to that nice milk glass globe. You wouldn't want that globe anyway since it had the jinx with the kerosene lenses at one time.

Make sure you get the deep notched lenses for glass bodies. Putting lenses meant for a capco body on a glass body is a good way to break them, or chip the notches.
I'm not sure what the C stands for on a Texaco lens, but it doesn't signify that its for a capco body. I've had Texaco lenses with a C on them that were deep notched and thick glass for use on a glass body.
Kanotex is not related in any way to Texaco.

Wanted: Gas pump globes:Sinclair & affiliates, IL companies. Ripple bodies. Anything Sinclair, Stoll, Pierce, 4 Bros.

Ethan, I do still have some sets of the Power-X's. They say Power-X Gasoline, not 100 octane. I need 150 per set on those as I don't have as many and I think they are worth more. Roger 901-386-6541

I do believe that the C on the bottom of the lenses does stand for Capco. Not to mean the plastic globe body but the Cincinnati Advertising Products Company. They made the plastic bodies but they also made lenses and glass bodies.

Yeah I said that wrong. I should have said any texaco related brand, or kanotex, pureoil or Indian (yea indian like I could afford that). The reason I mention these brands is they are all brands that my Father-in law sold.
Here is a link to my father in laws store that Jim Potts put on one of his sites.

Bill, I think you're right about the C standing for Cincinnati Advertising Products Company(Capco), but not necessarily meaning the lens belongs on a capco (plastic) body.
