Petroliana wise, service station literature consisting of everything from gas pumps, air meters and everything from lifts to battery chargers, a collection of about 20 different air meters, and a collection of service station giveaway glasses, estimated at over 500 different ones. I have one of the largest known collections of Volkswagen models. These are mostly the air-cooled versions and measure from 1/2" up to one a child can sit in and drive. No known count but I estimate well over 3000. Every few years I display the collection at the local VW Club show. It is held at a local VW dealership and they remove the new cars from the showroom floor and give me the space. At the last show it took ten 8' tables to display all the items.
Author, 1st & 2nd editions of Gas Pump ID book, 3rd edition is now available at www.gaspumpbible.comAir Meter ID book also available

Speedway, you know what they say, one mans nightmare is another mans wet dream, I am sure there is a few others collect those scales, we had an old boy (recently went to the big estate sale in the sky) had a real hard time turning away a scale he didnt have. He would never sell ANYTHING for any kind of Cash but if you took something he wanted he might trade, I traded a late Gulf sign and a cig sign to him for a porcelain oil rack, a 20's motorcycle plate And a 29 Wrangell Alaska town plate. Go there with cash you only got the show'n'tell. Anyway, i collect motorcycle and bicycle memorabilia, balloon & motorized bikes, Bicycle license plates among other things, and oh yeah gas'n'oil too. Maybe we should have a new category for Other Stuff We Collect we could show or finds on there, think about it...Frank

Well I collect soft drink items especially if its Royal Crown cola and I don't have it. It goes along with gas and oil, use to go to the gas station all the time to buy a soda when I was a kid and they usually had advertising for soft drinks on the station. Also collect a little arden stuff and looking for coffee signs for the dining room.

Believe it or not - I collect vintage roller rink labels - I have thousands of them from all over the USA and the World. Dating from the 1930's to the 80's. I want to put out collectors book on them because there isnt any yet.

Other than Mobil signs, cans, and pumps. I also collect Safticycles these were made in La Crosse Wisconsin in the 30's and 40's. Thanks to this site I met Ryan Underthun who has painted on for me and will most likely do more, (right Ryan). He did a great job. Here is a link to a photo of a 1948 Safticycle. Check it out. http://webpages.charter.net/safticycle/ssingar.jpg Other than that I also have a few Jeeps.

My wife collects M&M dispensers and Coca cola stuff. I collect butter churns, mainly DAZEY brand. I like restoring old furniture and am also slowly restoring a 1930 Dodge Bros. coupe. Talk about an expensive toy! We both like to browse the flea/antique marts just to remember the good old days and all that stuff that we tossed out.
