Rex,
Satelite is great if you have no other options. The download speed, pictures, pages etc are very quick but the upload speed will still be slow as I think you still will be using your phone for that. I could be wrong on that part.I
If you ever can get a cable modem I would highly recomend it. I have lightning fast speed and it is even faster then my offce where we have a t-1.

Rex, I know a guy that has a dish system that he can download AND upload with. Its very expensive. It is FAST. The only problem is he found out there is an allocation of bandwidth for each user. He downloaded a movie and used his entire allotment for the whole month! He's not a happy camper. Let me know what you get and how you like it. Bob

Thanks for all of the info. Last time we checked DSL wasn't available, but we will ask again. Also Direct TV never mentioned anything about alocations or uploading so we have to find out about that. You all are a great help. Any more tips? Thanks Rex ------------------

Hey Rex, like you, DSL is not available to me and I also have Direct TV. I haven't really checked into it, but I'm sure you are familiar with what storms and sun spots do to your reception. I can see you waiting to snipe a rare S&P on ebay and the reception goes out as you hit the bid icon. LOL Just something you may want to check on.

Rex , I use satelite, you download info via the Satelite, and upload via your dialup. It is about ten times faster than dialup , but not as fast as DSL. I moved out to the counrty and could not stand using dialup anymore, you have to have deep pockets for Satelite, it runs me about $75.00 a month, becuase you need to keep your dialup server as well. If you have any other questions give me a email would be glad to help. Dennis
