So today while visiting a scrap yard, two men approached me and asked if I was one of those picker guys. They told me they were cleaning out a bran, and I asked if they had a gas pump. They said yes, so off we went. They showed me the pump, which I originally thought to be a 100b. Later, at home, I realize that it's a cut-down 70. Here's the odd thing, at least to me. The face area seems really high and close to the sight glass, which seems really high and close to the top. There is no room for an add glass between the face and the sight glass. Has anyone ever seen a 70 set up like this? I'll get some pics tomorrow. And just for the record, this is a $25 special.

Ok, I figured it out. the entire Ad glass area was removed and the door welded about an inch above the window. The frame was sectioned directly below the sight glass as well as at the bottom near the base. they re-routed the plumbing to the sight glass. It's kinda impressive how they modified this pump, and it's really a neat look. I'll get pics tonight.

Here she is in all her faded glory. The thing was 50% buried in frozen dirt. Took 45 minutes and a pickax to liberate it from it's grave. It has rust holes I can put my fist through, but I'm gonna try and save it. I must admit I don't have high hopes though, I might just part it and scrap the skins and frame, but I'm not complaining for only $25.

I also think it would be a good donor/parts pump. Lot's of good parts.

Yep, she's gone to the great station in the sky. Scrapped it. Got some nice trim, a few good hinges, a few small parts and a nice base. There was just too much gone. Best of all, I got $42 when everything was over. It's a shame, I really liked how it looked cut-down. Someone knew what they were doing, as the work was VERY well done.

Pretty good deal when the leftovers bring more for scrap than you paid for the whole thing!
