Hi. I have a buyer up here in Napanee Ontario for this can. If anyone can help in evaluating this can, I would much appreciate it. I am looking to make a fair offer of sale, for both me and him. I am reserved about selling the Terco Motor Oil, as I have not seen another like it in my searches. Thanks everyone. You are a great community.

I agree $20 at the top end. Condition is every thing with cans and this one is poor. Always stinks to find a great can in poor condition.

I have seen the car logo before, been trying to remember where...

The can itself is from the late teens, early 1920s....

Sorry I also have come up blank on Terco Oil.

In the condition it is in now, IMO has value in the $5-$15 range....

Once cleaned up, depending on if the rust can be safely removed and the writing and graphics under the rust can be seen, the value could go up rapidly....

Bob.
Thanks for the info. I have been looking and asking. There is literally nothing I can find on Google. The more information the better. I like solving mysteries. I solved the Whiz Motor Rythm glass bottle I have...that was fun to get information.
How does one clean up oil cans? How would one clean up this Terco can?
Thanks again Bob. I appreciate your input.

On the can you have, I would wash it down with a very, and I mean very mild hand soap. If no paint comes off but a little bit of dirt and rust. I then would use more of the hand soap and using your fingers gently work the soap into the grime. Make sure that the surface is always quite wet. Again, make sure that no paint is being removed... If it is forget about anymore cleaning.....

After you have done this treatment a 1/2 dozen times or so, if the soap is cleaning you should see a noticeable difference between the before and after... I usually take photos of before and after cleaning...

Let us know how it turns out... If you want to take it a step further, I may be able to help?

I tried but the paint washed a bit away, so I am going to leave it to the buyer to wash it. But I do have a Shaler Riselone oil cleaner is a can that I think I can clean. What is the next step after the soapy water?
Thanks you for your time and information.
John
