And right after that posting.....

Although this is not a real antique Shell Gasoline Globe, I am selling it as one in the antique section of craigslist. Yes, it is brand new and you could just buy one of these brand new from http://www.vics66.com/store/gas-pumps/one-piece-milk-globes/m.products/576/view/3252 like I did for only $70, but what is the fun is that?
Its in Perfect Condition because I just bought it for $30 less than what I am selling it to you for.

Wow, it takes all kinds. The sad part is he'll probably sell it.

Kinda of silly, but at least he's honest. Must be craving attention.

I take it as an attempt at sarcasm. The guy is probably tired of all the jack***es asking stupid prices and stating "this is selling for $400 on Ebay...I'm asking $125 " or "this is just like the one on American Restoration that sold for $6500 " type ads. That is about all I see in the Antiques and Collectibles sections on Craigslist.

From experience, sarcasm goes over like a lead balloon here. smile

Jim,
I have heard about those lead balloons but everyone looks at me like I am crazy when I ask if they have any in the antique stores/junk shops I hit. Where do you get yours?
