Well this is hard to admit. I bought an oil rack and sign from an online auction and got taken. The sign turned out to be a reproduction. It was not listed in the catalog as such. The auctioneer was willing to work with me but in the end I decided that sending the whole thing back was not worth the extra money in shipping. The rack I will use for some of my cans. The sign, well the pictures tell how I feel.
I am sending the sign back to the auctioneer so, I hope, he does not make the same mistake twice. I hope that I can say the same.
Looking for Canadian Imperial and Canadian North Star. John Neilsen

That's a bum deal. I think he can tell by your inscription on the back how you really feel though. I'm sorry it's not funny, but your message to the auctioneer did crack me up. Look's like you did manage to vent some!

I've seen those before. They're actually made in Alberta.

If the auctioneer knew, I agree he should have said so in the listing Johnny. But not all auctioneers know every sign they sell, and its up to you to know what your buying, either thru experience, asking someone who would know, or the hard knocks route that you took. Most can rack signs are double sided so that should have been the first indication something maybe wrong. Anyway in the future feel free to ask me if you like and i will share what i know and hope it helps in your decision...thx mm
Wanted early tin litho signage. petro, farm, auto, etc.
