Can somebody help me identify the battery service tools that would've originaly went into this?

It's made out of soft plastic/rubber and is vintage 1950's I believe.
It has two side square pockets on both ends of different widths, and two recepticles on top that share their own compartment, seperate from the side pockets.
I think a hydrometer for testing, and a syphon for adding water fit into the two top recepticles.Maybe a wire tooth brush for cleaning terminals went into one of the side pockets, but don't know what else.
Can anyone add to that or correct me?
I'd like to find these tools if anyone knows of any or has pictures for reference.
Thanks..

Pizza,
Most likely you would have had, terminal pliers, terminal spreader, lifter, and maybe a carry strap.
Check out McMaster-Carr (www.mcmaster.com), in the find box type "battery pliers", when the page comes up scroll down to the cleaning tools. You may be able to find a suction bulb at a good NAPA store.

Pizza, I would be interested if you ever come up with a list of what was in the kit. I have an earlier version(?) It has "pat. applied for".

You might try to look in some old service station equipment magazines and catalogs. You may find these listed with their components there. Someone here is bound to have a box of those stashed for you to look through.

I have been going through the ton of old catalogs I have looking for what you have. I not come up with anything yet, but I have been trying to read what is on the one that Bob Richards posted. This might help a lot, and does anyone have any idea what era this is from?

The link I originally posted doesn't work. Go to Aumman Auctions website. Go to the "results" page. Search in "petroliana and advertising".Keywords "barrey service kit". Select "exact phrase, then click on search.

Rick,

I would guess that your kit is pre 1953. The two round holes are for the filler syringe (bulb) and a hydrometer. A later (1953) patent by Edelmann also mentions a volt meter and "tools". The later patent was for a rectangle unit that gave more room for the handle and put the tool pockets on the side for better balance.
NAPA sells the filler bulb #BK7001155, Battery Nut Pliers #SER203 and Battery Terminal Spreader #SER204. Check out their web site to get an idea of what to look for at swap meets, garage sales or the used tool stores if you have one in your area.
