Due to the awesome layout of this site I havnt had to bother anyone with my questions for awhile lol.... I know Snowdon worked for Imperial oil, Left around 1906 and stared his own company. This Clock is From the 1920's. What i am wondering is it rare? was it only used at the facory or a give away? its covered in filth will clean and works great with no chips or cracks...What would you offer? The man knows what it is and doesnt want to sell unless I make a "real money offer" what are they worth??

I know this is a stupid question, but how can that clock on the site be worth between $25 and $5000 dollars?

Clockwork
I think the $125.00 would be low in the Canadian Market. I never heard of Snowdon, but to the right Imperial collector I am sure it would be worth more.
Where did you find the history of Snowdon? I would be intrested in it as it relates to Imperial.

C.C. Snowdon is a very old Alberta oil and grease company which sold a great deal of products to the auto and farm trade throughout western Canada. They are really noted for the striking graphics that were used on their early cans, which are very sought after. Sliptivity was one their most popular brands. See tins at the top right in the photo. The clocks do show up occasionally at antique stores and at sales. I know of a few in collections here. Prices in Alberta would probably range from $300 to $500. I believe they did have a distributor in Vancouver early on. Really depends on how badly you want it. Some of the early companies are so obscure that some collectors don't chase them much nor place a high value. Cheers!

Snowdon items are tough to find in any condition. I've only added three pieces in 8 years. I am happy just to have these few early survivors. Cheers, Don.
