I found this ad on craigslist, it's not mine, looks like it's in nice shape, is $650 a fair price for that pump??

Hi Jake,

We just had a similar discussion about a similar pump. Seemed as though most people thought they are worth anywhere from 200-500. Either way, $650 is high in my opinion, but hopefully the seller has it priced to negotiate. Here is the link from the discussion: http://oldgas.com/forum/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Main=54054&Number=340293#Post340293

Also, if you don't already have the book, I highly recommend it:

Jake,
I saw the same ad, and thought it was a little high. I have bought several Bennett pumps (600-900 series) over the years, and all have been 100-500 dollars. Go look at pump, and make a lower offer - the most he can say is "NO". From pictures, my opinion is $200-400.

From the pics looks like a nice restoration candidate. Missing one door, missing LEAD signs. Make sure the inside looks decent and is all there. If the actual gas pump and motor are missing, no big deal. But, at that price, nothing more should be missing on the inside. $450 sounds fair to me. I paid $400 for one in about equal condition of G.R. Craigslist 2 years ago. Here's a movie of the "guts" motorized. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-UtMtl5pxZM

This pump is located in Benton Harbor, MI and has been for sale for about a month. I say $400 is top price for it. At $300 it would sell quickly IMO. Pumps that are priced fair or below market do not last over a week on Craigslist if that long..

Thanks so much for the input, I'm just going to wait for another taller pump to come along.
