Is this clock legit or a fantasy piece? It looks much nicer than some of the other fantasy clocks on ebay. Thanks.

Decal is slightly off center & slightly rotated, white in decal would match background if it were old [lit or un-lit].

There is also no MFG lettering on the bottom of the face which is very common on a Pam style clock.

I think it is a fantasy, can't say I've ever seen a texaco Pam that I could be 100 percent sure of. Telechron lenses are almost exactly like a Pam lens without the bottom lettering.telechrons also came in a cardboard type body, but I think they also had metal bodies later.even the repo lense for Pam's have the "Pam clock co" lettering and date so you have to be very careful with these clocks. I won't buy them if I don't know anything about the history or the person who is selling them.i have seen pics of a swihart lighted texaco, that I am pretty positive was the real deal.these look a lot like the Pam clock lens, but have arrows instead of numbers .and I still have a lot to learn about clocks!

Looking for gas,oil related clocks, especially neon and spinners .clock repair available. Mick

Good point to check original lettering compared to reproduction. Most of the advertising Telechron advertising lenses were also marked with MFG lettering on the bottom.

Alex

Texaco had a white T clock made up in the fifties/sixties that were like a Pam, Can't remember the manufacture off hand. I had a few blackT clocks that were probably from a refinery because they were on a supervised circuit. Meaning you couldn't set them by hand. I've sold them all now. : (

I believe this is the same face as the one sold on Ebay. Waynes Neon Clocks sells them. Here is his page to buy it

I'll go out on two limbs here.

1) Texaco never had a Pam clock produced.

2) That's against the law having Pam put on that reproduction/fantasy face.

Jamie, I totally agree with you. What is the purpose of putting the MFG letters on that face? I can only think of one reason...greed!
