Nice globe. I'm in agreement with HI-OCTANE's request...
"Hope you are going to date them or mark them reproduction."
I collect Illinois Farm Supply pieces, so I would hate to get fooled down the road by one of these, in thoughts I was buying an original.

They appear to be vinyl decals on a frosted lens.
Anybody that thinks that is 'original' and would be willing to pay big $$'s - should have their money taken.
Later . . .

I agree w/ Mick. Everyone else does what THEY like, glad you did to. I've made Twin pumps out of incomplete singles & taken a LOT of Jealous Criticism. At least I don't Fake having Real 36B-DP's or 866's by using Clock Face KITS!

I'm with Mick and DB. Why do guys have to be so critical and rain on someones parade? His pump, his collection, his time. It looks good and he enjoyed making it! And he willing to share...what's wrong with that?
as an added bonus...He never tried to pass it as an original.

My PM to natessrs. So more of you understand my position a bit more clearly:
Hello natessrs,
I think the forum with regards to your globe has gone the wrong direction a bit. Everyone has gotten a bit defensive about a couple comments, and my comment wasn't meant to be an insult at all, truly.
I want you to know that I trully like your globe. I collect IFS stuff, so I honestly appreciate it. My comment about puting an indicator on it with regard to "reproduction" or the date of make, was simply for honesty purposes. A lot of guys out there are NOT honest; you however may surely be. In no way shape or form did I intend to be critical. I'm in agreement with some other guys' comments about, "Do what you like!" Absolutely, couldn't agree more. We all should. That's what makes the hobby fun!
Just wanted to write you a private message and compliment your piece, but also tell you that I personally was in no way being "critical" or "raining on your parade." You asked for thoughts. My thought was honestly, "Nice globe. Maybe just mark it with a date or repro indicator," to maintain your honesty in the event one of these ends-up in someone else's dishonest hands.
Great work. Nice piece. Love the IFS graphics in general. Hopefully, you understand that I didn't mean to insult your work, but simply add to it for the sake of "ethical behavior" down the road. That's it. If you ever have IFS items to sell or buy, let me know. I've got a couple pieces myself.
Thanks.

Well so much for private message.
Don't think anyone meant anything, other than T-way and it was if you are going to buy globes you need to know globes.
Looks great if you are happy with it I'm excited for you. I can see its stickers, So I grade it good. Think its just a slow day,and maybe we are bored. Think I'll watch some WWF and body slam the wifes life size teddybear !

Copies of originals [IMO] are SOO MUCH BETTER than any of the Fantasy oil company globes that are being made/used. They are worse [IMO] than restoring a 50's pump to a company that was bought/merged out 5-10yrs prior to pump being made.
