...hmm...well, it shouldn't be hard to contact the current "owner" of the sign, if two Oldgassers are buddies with him...
Looking for better Gulf items: signs, globes, cans and paper - especially porcelain Gulf flanges, and Gulf A-38 & A-62 ad glass...

Its not a ring of deseception eddy and i both live in ga and know the owner shotzy also knows he same guy. Shotzy knows and trust the actual owner. And i consider the owner a personal friend.

The owner doesnt have the sign it was stolen. And i asked him if i could comment about it on here hes not a member of the site

Tom ( and any others that care lol) Jon and I have a mutual friend. He travels a bit up North, as we all do (assuming that is how he knows Shotzy).
It being a pretty uncommon sign, I'm guessing he asked Shotzy to put it here and he asked me to put it on eBay because I have a bit of experience there to see if it would go for what he wanted for it.
We have now found out, while he was out of town, he was cleaned out. So the sign has been pulled.
Same thing Jon said, just all organized in one post.

Yes it was. One of the benefits of Georgia is 99% of these sign guys down here know each other. The sign turned up at an antique mall this afternoon. It was bought back and made its way to the original owner.
As for a police investigation. Uh, not sure where you got that one from lol.
Anyways, it's relisted with the same conditions as previously, bid if you want, don't if you don't.

Never said it wasn't reported to the police Dick. Just said no police investigation has anything to do with this one. Also, I'm sure the police will be oh-so-helpful with a bunch of signs, but dunno myself, it's not my collection so it wont be any of my business.
Having a hard time understanding why everyone is trying to turn this in to an episode of CSI lol.

No, a sign got posted on here, put up for auction, and then stolen. You have 2 guys who know the guy it happened to telling you that. We live in Georgia, I can assure you the original poster didn't come down here and get it loo.
The original owner found it now, and the auction is back on. Still having trouble seeing the big deal.
