I think it was original in the 90's when Stout made a rerun of these and others along with several flanges, I am not an expert on the dates. I do have some of the signs though. They make good feed bowls.
Thanks

katfsh,
Are you saying my sign is a repro? It isnt.
It was acquired in the early 70's by the husband of the previous owner whom I've known for a while. Do more research before throwing that out there.
I cant stand misrepresented repros either. Please go to ebay to overpay for those.

Stout sign has been around since 1886.

Stout has made a repro of this sign, mine is not it. Repros have a "limited production of 750" on the bottom.

Mine has the date code in an outdated font . That is why I included the bottom sign information to avoid any confusion.
Does yours have "imitation grape Flavor" under the Grapette?

Mine has a mottled green back I have seen on late 50's and early 60's signs.

Here's a picture for you to compare:

Hey man, I'am sorry! But I have seen some stamps that got changed on a few signs some years back. I am not saying yours is wrong and did not see the green paint on yours either. But if you know it's history that 's all that matters. You have a good price on the sign. Good Luck

Sounds like somebody needs to learn some etiquette, especially calling somebodies sign a repop when it's not.
Trashing their sale, not to mention their reputation isn't cool.

Lyle the cap is wrapped in the packing
Katfsh, didn't think I needed to show the back but will if needed
if I had doubts on a sign, I would contact them either privately, and if I got a suspicious answer, I would then pose a question on the forum like what does the back look like? Or do you know the history of the sign?
That's offers the seller to prove either real or repo without actually accusing the seller outright.
Let the seller prove it with their evidence. There is enough experts on here to chime in when authenticity in in question.
I was glad to show it is real but didn't like being accused first without being asked.
