went to look at the fry 17 today,only the tag did say 17 the top was a 10 gallon 117.Is it possible to change these parts?We;ll be bringing home the pump next week.thanks for any insite.

Yes, some of them will accept the 5 or 10 gallon cylinders.

The one I had was a 117-R...10 gallon
It had a cast iron "ring" under the top of the pump and a cast ring on the cylinder base that were detachable.
All I had to do was remove the rings, change the rods and cylinder end rings and conduit, and use a smaller cylinder and it became a 5 gallon. It must have been an upgrade from a 5 to a 10 to use up previously made parts.
I removed 5 of the regulator stops, and sold them quickly.


I did this one around 1990, it went to Italy.

nice pump,this one has the big jar lid and base lid so i think it was changed at one time.I will post pics in next weeks haul of the week,i also bought a 46" HC sinclair sign,and a steel tank that was on a wagon bed,like the one on page 11 of the sinclair collectibles book.
