Having spent two years in Europe compliments of the US Army, although it was fifty years ago, I have been in your country and your posts bring back pleasant memories for me. Thank you, Mitch

Hi, thank you all for your kind words
maybe it's not the best time to take that decision, I think I'll stay here a bit more. It's been rough for me for some months, I usually don't talk about my problems but it's been a year since I got dumped by ikea and finding a job is really tough.
I hope to post here some more great things related to the "1950's"

see you soon

Oops, sorry, didn't see that. IKEA is a great company to work for, but like most large companies they have their strict rules and have little tolerance when things don't go right.
I gotta be honest though, I don't get the goodbye cruel world posts, but it would be a shame to see ya go.

I've worked for ikea for replacement for 5 months then they offered me a contract then some weeks later they said they have no more money to hire me and they said that on the last day of my replacement on 24th december... merry christmas

that's why I thought it was not fair but it's ok now, I'm still looking to find a job in an advertising company or as a graphist but many company go bankrupt now, I decided some weeks ago to take some language lessons to improve my dutch so I could search a job in the dutch part of belgium or in the netherlands

No matter how good you think you are at your job, you can always be replaced by someone that is better or by 2 for less money.

Once again I got the same feeling as I got some months ago by seeing not collectors but people who registered here to ask value for items for selling them at high prices or just offering items for sale without really participating to the forum

for the pepsi machine, he got registered yesterday and offered to buy a pepsi for 2400 $ !!! c'mon you have to be kidding ? I posted some messages for fun and I got this message in responds from Oldgas moderator "Stop harassing the soda machine seller. Stay away from him."

so we can't have a little fun here ?

I think it could be great to block the access in the sale section for new memmbers until they have posted at least 100 messages, so this forum won't be a value for selling items website

I really enjoyed talking about my passion about petroliana and sodapop and everything about collecting but this time it's really the time for me to quit, Thank you all for all the good time on this forum and for having shared pictures of your collections, it's a great passion and hobby I have shared with overseas collectors and I took really good time here ,thanks you all for those 2 great years and take care of you

bye-bye

John

Sorry you feel that way, John. But there is a rule that criticism of the seller's price will not be allowed in the For Sale Petroliana forum. A seller can ask what he wants, even if it is not realistic to you. Members should just pass by a for sale item if they don't agree with the price or terms.

Only when you came back and posted sarcastic comments after your price criticism was removed, did you get that message from me.

Nucky , I really enjoyed the oversee's items you have showed us. Its really great to see the differents between the two islands. May I add ,Jim is a stand up guy. He made the rules and inforces the rules evenly. Yes I learned my leason the hard way. Now if I don't agree with what someone post I let the mouse do the work ,not the keyboard.
Sorry to here about the job , we have all been their. Good Luck.
You really don't have to leave ?

Gene
